What You'll Do

1Lead the technical design and delivery of large backend initiatives spanning teams; identify and remove systemic bottlenecks

2Own architecture strategy: drive modular backend, service, data, and platform architecture and lead monolith modernization while preventing fragmentation and service sprawl

3Set standards for APIs, contracts, compatibility, schema evolution, testing, security, performance, observability, operability, maintainability, and build/test/deploy/release/rollback practices

4Establish shared patterns for dependency management, data ownership, eventing, failure isolation, service maturity, and operational documentation; establish Go service patterns and Kubernetes operating practices and guide Rust adoption where appropriate

5Own what you build in production: take part in on-call and incident response and act as technical escalation point during complex incidents

6Influence and partner with Product and Engineering leadership on platform-level roadmap decisions and investment trade-offs

7Grow engineers by mentoring Senior and Intermediate engineers and reducing technical debt

8Lead team-level adoption of AI-assisted and agentic workflows including quality, security, privacy, and operational guardrails
