What You'll Do
1Shape the roadmap for GATE and GitLab's authentication services with the team
2Design and implement token issuance, validation, and identity services in Go and Ruby across the Rails monolith and GATE
3Build new authentication mechanisms such as Workload Identity Federation
4Migrate authentication and token management paths from the monolith into GATE while maintaining reliability across deployment models
5Strengthen security for users and organizations through access management tooling and addressing HackerOne vulnerabilities
6Define and improve standards for style, maintainability, and engineering practices and advocate for them through code review
7Communicate publicly about GitLab initiatives, projects, and external contributions
8Ship moderately sized features with moderate guidance and collaborate on larger projects including GATE build-out
9Participate in the maintainer trainee program toward becoming a project maintainer
