- 💡 Your taxable income is ₹10.44L, within the ₹12L Section 87A rebate, so you pay no income tax on this salary.
- 💡 ₹1.15L a year goes into your PF account. It's your money, just locked until you withdraw it.

Your CTC is what a company spends on you in a year. Your in-hand salary is what you can actually spend. The gap comes from money that's counted in CTC but never hits your monthly payslip (employer PF, gratuity, variable pay) and deductions taken from what does (income tax, your own PF, professional tax). This calculator works through each one under the new tax regime, so you can check an offer letter before you sign it, or work out what a hike is really worth.

How do I calculate in-hand salary from CTC?
Start with CTC and take out the parts that never reach your monthly payslip: variable pay or bonus (paid separately), the employer's PF contribution, and gratuity if your company counts it in CTC. What's left is gross salary. From gross, subtract income tax, your own 12% PF contribution and professional tax. The result divided by 12 is your monthly in-hand salary.
What is the in-hand salary for 10 LPA?
About ₹73,530 a month, assuming the full ₹10 LPA is fixed pay, basic is 40% of CTC, PF is 12% of basic and gratuity is included in CTC. Under the new regime there is no income tax at this level: taxable income stays under the ₹12 lakh Section 87A rebate limit.
What is the in-hand salary for 15 LPA and 20 LPA?
With the same assumptions (all fixed, 40% basic, 12% PF, gratuity in CTC), ₹15 LPA comes to about ₹1,03,581 a month and ₹20 LPA to about ₹1,33,558 a month, after new-regime income tax of ₹81,766 and ₹1,64,428 a year respectively.
Why is my in-hand salary so much lower than CTC ÷ 12?
Because CTC is what the company spends on you, not what it pays you each month. Employer PF, gratuity, insurance and variable pay are all counted in CTC but don't arrive in your monthly salary. Your own PF contribution, income tax and professional tax are then deducted from gross pay. With a typical salary structure, monthly in-hand works out to roughly 70% to 88% of CTC ÷ 12 for CTCs up to ₹50 lakh, and the share falls as salary rises.
Which tax regime does this calculator use?
New tax regime, Budget 2025 slabs (FY 2025-26): nil up to ₹4 lakh, then 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30% slabs, a ₹75,000 standard deduction, the Section 87A rebate up to ₹12 lakh taxable income (with marginal relief just above it), surcharge above ₹50 lakh and 4% cess. The new regime is the default unless you opt out, so it's what most salaried employees are taxed under.
How can I increase my in-hand salary without a raise?
Ask HR whether PF can be calculated on the ₹15,000 statutory wage ceiling (₹1,800 a month) instead of 12% of your full basic; this raises in-hand but lowers your retirement savings. Under the new regime, an employer contribution to NPS (up to 14% of basic) is one of the few deductions still allowed. Most other regime-specific deductions, like HRA and 80C, only apply under the old regime.
